I finally received my new mouse in the mail yesterday. You have no idea how excited I was. If you want to know a little bit more, here is a post I made a while ago about a mouse I really have come to not like. I got the package and opened my new mouse, the Microsoft Sidewinder X8.
Before choosing and ordering a mouse, I did a lot of research. I went to Best Buy and tried out every mouse they had set up. I am pretty sure I was making some people there a little uneasy with how thorough I was being with these mice. But I wanted to get the right one.
After testing mice and doing research online, I had the field narrowed to two candidates, the Razer Mamba and the Microsoft Sidewinder X8. After more thinking and finding a 20% off coupon for Newegg.com, I decided on the Sidewinder. I have since received this mouse and have yet to really test it out. Upon opening the packaging and plugging it in, it wouldn’t work. I thought to myself, of course, the driver. After that, it still didn’t work, the battery wasn’t charged. And I couldn’t get it to charge, still can’t. I put in a normal AA battery and the mouse starts working fine but the rechargeable it came with won’t take a charge, even after leaving it over night.
I am going to go and find another rechargeable battery I can try with it but I really do not want to have to call Microsoft and send this thing back in. I want to use it. I hate it when electronics are dead out of the box.

I’v been useing the X8 for some time now, very pleased with the mouce,
had no problems detecting it when pluged in or get it to recharge
and i think it looks kinda like the millenium falcon, when not set to the wire, glowing all red n blue lezers in the dark
only problem i have is one button at the very front of the mouce next to the left mouce click, …its hard to reach so not very userable in fast past games
the rest of the button are just fine
my 2 cents
over n out

That definitely is worth mentioning. That stupid button way up front that nobody can actually reach. It is a pretty useless button.
